Beautiful blue sky day in Edmonton yesterday.
I went north of the city and found a snowy owl just north of the city. I ventured further north and came across flock of Grey Partridge. I found 4 Northern Hawk Owls but they were all fairly distant.
I found my first great Grey Owl at 5:30 pm but it disappeared quickly. After sunset I found another. While I photographed it, I could hear a Great Horned Owl hooting nearby.
I cruise around well into dusk turned up another two Great Grey’s silohetted in the trees.
Beautiful drive (8 hours, f5 1/2 in daylight, 2 1/2 in the dark) with four owl species and 9 owls spotted.
