November 3
Good Morning
I am sure there were a few people who said “Where is the beautiful sunset you saw?” Right Mom!
I anticipated an awesome sunset as the clouds had formed a chinook arch to the west and left a small opening close to the horizon for the sun to shine through. So I waited, first hoping to photograph an owl in the wonderful light but then deciding to shoot a landscape image. I didn’t have a tripod so I rested my camera on a fence post and took some shots. I expected the whole sky to go red but only a small portion did. It was very spectacular.
These images are composites. An under-exposed image is used for the sky and an overexposed image is used for the foreground. Under exposed sunsets have richer colors so if you are shooting a sunset, make sure to under expose it.
This is just as the sun disappeared.
Stay well !
