My sister Lorna spotted a Mountain Cottontail for the first time in Calgary recently. They are not as easily seen in the urban settings as the White-tailed Jackrabbits that come out at night on our city streets. The only other Lagomorph that resides in Alberta is the Snowshoe Hare. The Snowhoe and Cottontail are found in urban parks in the undergrowth. They are not seen as frequently but they are around.
