Good Afternoon

The Cooper’s hawk is an accipiter. There are three accipiters in Alberta: the Cooper’s, the Sharp Shinned Hawk, and the Northern Goshawk. Unlike the hawks you will see soaring over the prairie skies, the accipiters are forest specialists. They ambush their prey and are often lurking above your head when you walk through the forest.

Connor and i saw this one in a local park in Edmonton.

He and I are off camping at Lac la Biche for a few days so we will unlikely be connected to the internet.

Stay Well!
