Yesterday I was busy working on my website when I got a call from a friend looking for directions to a birding spot outside of Edmonton. After I filled him in, he mentioned that he had received a call about a Barred Owl in Whitemud Creek near our home. So I headed over to check to out. Connor was able to join me after school, so we both got to see it.

The two images show the extremes of the shape it can have. The first image is when a raven is flying overhead. It turned stretched itself vertically to blend in better with the trunk. The second image is after it has finished preening and is all fluffed up.
