Good Afternoon

Surprisingly , July is a bit of a slow time for bird photography. The birds are all busy nesting and raising young. They try to remain as inconspicuous as possible.

It was an overcast day yesterday but I decided to go out anyway. By total chance I happened across a very good spot. It was a small pond beside a side road. When I was driving by, I thought I saw a Western Pewee and stopped to photograph it. It wasn’t a pewee but an Eastern Phoebe.

While I was sitting there some Eastern Kingbirds showed up and then over the course of an hour or two, more birds would fly in. The combination of soft light from the overcast sky and the background of a field of grain provided the opportunity for some nice images.

Stay Well
