April 29
Thanks to everyone for their kind words with respect to Paul’s passing. He was a very special person in our lives.
Sorry for the late posting but it has been a long day. I left home at 6:30 am to check out some spots east of Edmonton. At about 10:30 am, I got a call from a birding friend of mine, Don Delaney. He was photographing long tailed ducks. That was great news but he was west of Edmonton and about 200 kilometers away from were I was. Long tailed ducks are common in Ontario and along the Atlantic coast but only seen about once a year in Alberta.
I headed home and picked up Connor and we headed west. We were fortunate as the ducks were still there and we spend a couple of hours watching them.
It is only the second time I have seen them and a first for Connor.
I am posting two shots.
One from today on their breeding plumage and one from 2017 when Sheryl and I were in Niagara on the Lake and they were in there winter plumage.
Stay Well !
