Yesterday as my search for the elusive owls was coming to a close, I saw a buck in the distance running across a field towards me. I pulled over to the side of the road and it stopped. He looked at me for about a minute, then he turned around and took off back in the direction he had come from.
I watched as he ran along with a few fast strides and then a long jump then more fast strides and then another jump. It was jumping even though there was no obstacle to jump over.
I decided to try to capture some images even though it was very dark. I have composited twenty two images together. Twenty are the foreground of the image and show the deer running and two more are pictures I took of the sky above the deer as it was running. I knew I wanted to add that to the image.
My camera shots ten frames per second and this images cover about 2 seconds. He can cover a lot of ground in that time.
