Good Morning

Yesterday’s drive yielded few birds but did provide a good opportunity to photograph redpolls. There are two species of redpolls; Common and Hoary. The Common are the most prevalent and can be seen in large flocks flying over the snow covered fields. The Hoarys which are lighter colored and have a slightly smaller bill, don’t flock together and one or two can sometimes be spotted in a large flock of Commons. That was the case yesterday when I stopped to photograph a flock of about 50 redpolls. I quickly worked my way through the crowd until I found a lighter colored one and then took lots of shots of it. I have very few Hoary Redpoll shots so I was quite happy to see one.f

Stay well
