November 23

Good Morning

Connor and I had a successful adventure yesterday. We left home at 10 am and returned at 6 pm. We covered a lot of territory and had several first of the seasons for Connor. We saw snow buntings, redpolls, bohemian waxwings and pine grosbeaks. And we found a Great Grey Owl as the suns started to set. An unexpected bonus was spotting a Barred Owl along the highway as we drove home.  By that time it was almost dark, but we managed to get a shot. This time of day after the sun is down is known as the blue hour. Normally, we hope for a nice perch with a clean background, but sometimes a messy tangle  of branches works too.

Stay well
