I was travelling north east of Calgary yesterday looking for Red-tailed Hawks. Normally this time of year there are lots of them around. However yesterday I saw none. I suspect that the early harvest has resulted in less hunting opportunities and they have moved one.
I did spot two Northern Harriers. I had stopped to photograph one in the distance when I noticed this one coming towards me on the fence line. It didn’t see me until it was very close so I was able to get some nice shots.
