I travelled down to Calgary thus week to visit my Mom and sister. My Mom. And I took a drive east of Calgary looking for snowy owls but didn’t find any. Instead we found this short-eared owl. It sat on a fence post and preened for about 30 minutes before taking off. In that time, the sun came out from behind the chinook arch and bathed the bird in glorious light.
