Good Morning

Slowly making my way through my images. One of the unique landscape features in the Waterton area is the large area of burnt forest with the new growth coming in. Three years ago  a major fire swept through the park and into the adjacent prairies. 35,000 acres were burnt.

Today the understory is bushes and flowers. The fireweed is about waist hight and cover large areas. IN a couple of weeks it will turn red, orange and yellow and the ground will be on fire again. It should look spectacular with the dark trees sticking out.

The two birds I am sharing today were photographed in a burn area.

The first is an American Goldfinch and the second is a Western Tanager.

Stay well.
