Good Morning

The other bird high on our list of birds to see was the Black-headed Grosbeak. This bird has a very small presence in Alberta and is found in Waterton and around Writing on Stone Provincial Park. We found them in three places: Haybarn Road in WNP, Lundbreck Fall P.P. and Beavais Lake P.P.
They are known for their continuous calling and sound like a Robin who doesn’t know when to stop calling.

The other bird is a Western Wood Pewee. There are several small flycatchers that look very similar and are best identified by song. It took a while for Connor and I to narrow this one down by song as the call it was not familiar. But once we saw it , we could identify it and confirm it’s song against our app recordings.

Stay well.
