Good Morning

It has been a while since I issued a report so I thought sending two today would be ok.

Connor and I had a great trip to southern Alberta last week. We went all the way to the very south-east corner of the province. So we covered the North-west in February, the almost North-east in June, The South-west in July and South-east and West in August. It has taken until this week-end to cross a provincial border!

Last week, we saw lots of Ferruginous Hawks. These are North America’s largest hawk and second only to the Upland Buzzard in Asia in size and weight. It is found in the interior of North America and mainly in the south eastern grasslands. They are interesting as they can often be found perched on the ground rather than a telephone pole or tree.

They are very beautiful birds and we are always excited to see one!

Stay well
