January 11

Connor is off to in-person school again today so I am up early. Interesting to use the adjective “in-person” when describing school.

Another bird that we saw in the last week of December and first week of January was the Evening Grosbeak. A good friend of ours, Don, very generously takes us to his friends farm a couple times a year to see Evening Grosbeaks. They are hard to find and this farm has over twenty feeders that attract a lot of birds. So we went on December 30th and had a great session. Then, when we were exploring north-east of Edmonton, we found a lot of birds in a small town called Newbrook. This is a town of a couple hundred people and they have lots of feeders all over the town. The Evening Grosbeak is a very colorful bird and always a pleasure to photograph. It lives year round in Alberta.

Stay well !
